Unique Environmental Test Chambers

These unique chambers are used throughout industry to test a variety of products.  In the case of the automotive industry,  automotive vehicles under tested under simulated natural and accelerated environments to improve quality and product reliability.  The range of environments, the combinations, and the chamber sizes result in an almost endless number of unique configurations.  In addition, the complexities of the test site, utilities, and so forth further complicate system installations and chamber configurations.  Most of these chambers are therefore costume manufactured to user requirements.

Some of the more unique environmental chambers are highlighted:

• Drive-In Climatic Chambers

These chambers not only combine the typical temperature-humidity environments but also altitude, rain, solar heating to name a few.  

• Air Bag Test Chambers

The critical operations requirements of air bags required testing at under environmental conditioning while filming at high speed.  Unique fast chamber openings are required which add a degree of complexity.

• Combined Corrosion Test Systems

A particular sophisticated chamber is one that combines a number of harsh environments simultaneously, for example: Temperature; Humidity; Corrosion (NaCl, CaCl, MgCl); vibration in 3 axes 

• Combined Chamber and "Four Poster" Test Facilities

This unique chamber simulates climatic environments combined with road simulation and solar radiation.  The vehicle wheels are mounted on  "four posters" which simulate impact road shock and bumps to the vehicle while undergoing temperature exposure and solar load..

• Combined Chamber and Dynamometers

Vehicles are run on dynamometers while undergoing temperature and humidity.  Other environments can also be simulated.  Applications of this configuration is to be found under Emission Test Chambers.

• Other

In addition there are a number of other chambers with unique simulation or test capabilities including: Noxious Gases; Ozone; Temperature Cycling/Random Vibration; Volatile Organic Emissions and the list goes on.
